Sharing AquaTerra Group’s management buyout news through strategic media relations

Our client, AquaTerra Group, had an exciting business development to announce.  The company completed a management buyout and required our help to tell the story.

The results

We wrote and issued a press release to key business and energy industry media contacts. This was published by 12 different media outlets including The Times and Offshore Magazine, and garnered interest from the Editor of Energy Voice to delve deeper into what the future holds for AquaTerra. This led to an interview between Energy Voice and AquaTerra’s Directors, resulting in a print and digital article, meaning that AquaTerra’s story was continuing to be told two months after the initial management buyout announcement.

AquaTerra Group were also overwhelmed by congratulatory messages and positive reactions on social media.

“It has been a great few months working with the team at Bold St Media. Louise and Emma have been super helpful with raising the profile of our business.”

The challenge

AquaTerra’s Managing Director was very modest about this development in the business and hadn’t anticipated how significant sharing the story would be. Stephen also wanted to ensure that the timing of the announcement tied in with sharing the news with staff internally.

We were able to identify and target the most relevant media outlets at the right time for this piece of news. We then guided the Directors through the steps that followed the announcement.

The solution

In addition to writing the initial press release, arranging photography, and sharing the story with media outlets, we continued media relations with Energy Voice, liaising with the Editor to set up an interview with AquaTerra’s current and former owners.

We always ensure that our clients feel comfortable and well prepared for media interviews and therefore, we provided advice and prepared a briefing document which gave the Directors points to consider ahead of time.

We attended the interview and photoshoot which gave each Director and the former owners an opportunity to be represented and share their perspectives, and we continued to liaise with the Energy Voice Editor up to the point of publication.
