Creative brand agency, Bold St Media, is set to implement a raft of measures to future-proof the business in the face of increasingly harsh winters. 2026 ushered in unparalleled volumes of snow, combined with 20 consecutive days without sunshine in the North-east. Having recognised the detrimental impact of these meteorological events on both their team and the wider business, Bold St’s leadership team have taken decisive action to mitigate this going forward.

Principal among these measures will be a dedicated staff wellbeing space in Bold St’s new, larger premises. Christened the ‘Bold St bunkhouse’, the room will boast a number of features designed to enhance staff wellbeing during the winter months, while also putting in place continuity and contingency processes for the business.

The space will feature a number of cosy bunk-beds for team members - many of whom live in outlying areas - who find themselves stranded due to snowfall blocking roads. A vitamin D booth will be installed with the aim of boosting both mood and energy during the darkest months of the year. Finally a ‘soft-play’ area will be created to promote calm and relaxation, while also inspiring fun and creativity among the team.

Mark McCluskie, the firm’s Creative Director, outlined the rationale behind this bold move:

“From global pandemics to international conflicts, and of course the good old British weather, companies are increasingly at the mercy of circumstances outwith their control. As we celebrate our 10th year in business, we are mindful of our responsibility to our team to ensure we are as prepared as it’s possible to be for any such unexpected events. Our duty of care has always been of paramount importance, and this significant investment in our wellbeing space is simply an extension of our existing culture and ethos.

“We also recognise the important role we play in our clients’ business operations, and strive to be as responsive to their needs as possible. Of course communications become even more critical in times of crisis, so we want to make sure we are on hand to support our clients during this period.

“We can’t wait to unveil the latest exciting development in Bold St’s journey.”
